London Sports League (LSL), formed with a vision to empower and unite communities through sports has been formally launched by Newham MP Stephen Timms on Saturday. During his speech, Mr. Stephen Timms specially mentioned the contribution of Malayalee community in the UK and the reception and hospitality he and his family received from Kerala during his recent visit to the “Gods Own Country.” Presence of prominent personalities including Councillor Unmesh Desai representing Greater London Assembly, Mr. Sajid Patel chairman of National Cricket League, Crossplay BDM Mr. Jithin George, leaders of community organizations, many talented artists and sports personalities also graced the occasion.
Cllr Unmesh Desai who is a familiar face to the community reassured his and GLA supports to the future activities of LSL. NCL Chairman Sajid Patel who is the founder of National Cricket League extended his support to the league to take the venture to a new height. Representing LSL, Secretary Mr. Pramod Bhaskaran narrated the activities of the league and announced the introduction of new Badminton league by LSL for Men, Women, and youth starting on 06 the May 2017. The musical evening “Pranayanila” and the Bollywood dancers added the grace, beauty, and vibrancy to the occasion. London sports league promotes togetherness through sports, hope to enjoy the continuous support and encouragement of the community in such efforts.
