LSL Cricket League 2019 – Week 5

 

Congratulations to week 5 winners MCC, Panthers Sports Club, Thunder Boys CC, London Desperados & London Strikers.

Thunder boys won against Aztecs CC by 67 runs in a at Peter May on Sunday. Batting first Thunder Boys put a decent score on the board to all out for 221. Colin Fernadez top scored for Thunder Boys with a well-made 61 runs and opener Gourav Gupta scored 53. Aztecs bowled out for 153 runs.

Panthers beat Challengers by 3 wickets at Southall on Saturday. Batting first Challengers scored a decent total of 178 on the board with the help of a brilliant half century by Felix Joseph. Ramees Peedikayil took 5 wickets for Panthers. Panthers started well with both their opening batsmen kept the score moving. They lost some quick wickets in the middle order but finally won by 3 wickets.

Desperados put an end to the unbeaten run by London Sports Club in the competition by 4 wickets to register another win to climb the top of the Division 1 points table at Hainault on Saturday.  LSC bowled out for 121 and Desperados chased the total comfortably.

London Strikers beat Bedford Malayalee CC by 7 wickets at Peter May on Saturday. Batting first BMCC scored a reasonable total of 173 on the board with the help of a fantastic batting display by Jijo Skaria (52) at the tail end. Shiya Muhammed took 4 wickets for Strikers. Strikers chased the total comfortably led by captain Vijay scoring yet another half century.

MMC piled up a huge score of 310 at Fairlop on Saturday to win against Griffins. Batting first MCC started well, thanks to Kashif & Aghilan Thamarakulam scoring half centuries. In response Griffins were all out for low score.
